If you’re wondering what all the parties and policies are all about in the upcoming Election, here are some information sources and resources looking at the election from a Christian perspective:
The Christian Institute Election Section – There’s a downloadable election briefing document with an easy to understand explaination of what the parties all stand for. You can also see how your current MP has voted on important ethical moral issues.
The Evangelical Alliance Election Section – Has information on the policies of the three main parties in a variety of areas.
Premier Radio’s Election Section – Has seven audio debates held on Premier Radio and you can get a free copy of the ‘Votewise Now!’ booklet.
Christians in Politics – The three Christian sections of the three main parties have got together to promote Christians in politics – no matter the colour they represent!

Islam – a Christian Perspective

Islam is growing rapidly in the UK and Europe and Christians are increasingly encountering Muslims in our neighbours, or at work, school or university or on the TV. But what do Muslims believe and how does it differ from Christianity? What are the challenges involved in sharing your faith with a Muslim? Join us for an afternoon and evening at Minehead Baptist Church when we’ll explore all these issues and more.
Session One: Introduction to Islam
What do Muslims believe and why? How does Islam differ from Christianity? Are all Muslims extremists? How can I talk to a Muslim friend, colleague, or classmate about my faith? This whistle-stop tour of Islam — it’s origins, beliefs and contemporary issues facing Muslims today— will answer all these questions and more.

Session Two: Sin and Salvation in Islam and Christianity
Every religion has to answer the fundamental questions: what’s wrong with the world and what’s the solution? This session explores what Islam has to say about the topic of sin and evil and about salvation. This most vital of topics helps focus on some of the core differences between Islam and Christianity: and in so doing, will help highlight ways to begin talking with Muslims about Jesus and the gospel.

Andy Bannister is the lead apologist for Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM) Canada. He speaks throughout the UK and Europe, as well as regularly in Canada. Andy is also a visiting lecturer for the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics, London School of Theology and Wycliffe Hall, Oxford.
With a background in youth ministry before studying theology and philosophy (focussing especially on Islam), Andy has engaged in apologetics in wide variety of settings, from up a ladder at London’s Speakers Corner, to university seminars, to radio and online debates. He has worked with churches and organisations across the denominational spectrum, including L’Abri, the European Leadership Forum and New Word Alive, where he has designed and run the Islamic apologetics workshops for the past few years.
