Come along to The Hub on Friday, 20th June 2014 at 6.00pm for a fun filled time!

Although it’s aimed primarily at children aged 5-11, slightly younger and older will really enjoy it as well!

Children need an adult responsible for them attending the event.

There are limited numbers (restrictions on numbers in the building) so make sure you get your  tickets before the night!

Minehead Baptist is a Church with a vision to be a channel of God’s blessing into our community. We have been challenged to make disciples of children and young people.

Part of our response has been to develop a Childrens and Families Centre (including a Soft Play facility) called The Hub. To further develop our vision we are seeking to appoint:

  • A Church and Community Youth Worker (28.5 Hours p/w)
  • and Deputy Manager of The Hub (11.5 Hours p/w)

Together these roles can form a full-time position (combined remuneration package circa £23.5K to £25.5K).

When Rain Falls Like Lead - 5th April 2014 at The Hub

UPDATE: Sadly, due to illness, Andy Percey has had to pull out of the event so sadly it’s been CANCELLED.

Andy Percey is a Minister and author who has just had a book published – “When Rain Falls Like Lead” – which considers the subject of suffering; why people suffer and where God is in our suffering. This is a wonderfully written and very accessible theological reflection on some of the biggest and most commonly asked questions in our society.

A New Manager Needed for The Hub

The Hub

A New Manager is required for The Hub, an indoor soft play area, coffee bar, public hire venue and versatile performance and worship space for children, young people and their families in Minehead and surrounding areas.

This paid role is part time (around 17.5 hrs a week) and will include overseeing the daily running of the Centre.

The post has a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) that the postholder is a Christian and actively involved in a local Church.

Jonathan EdwardsJonathan Edwards has been appointed as Prospects’ first Executive Ambassador. Jonathan is a Baptist minister and has served as one of Prospects’ Ambassadors for the past couple of years. The role will include helping to give spiritual oversight to Prospects during a period of rapid growth and working to enhance the profile of the organization. Jonathan comments, “Ever since I first heard of Prospects about 20 years ago, I have been thrilled to hear of its vital ministry. Anyone who loves the Gospel must love the work of Prospects, as we seek to show the love of Christ to those with learning disabilities. It will be an absolute pleasure to work for Prospects.” Jonathan lives with his family in Newbury, Berkshire and for the past seven years has been the General Secretary of the Baptist Union of Great Britain.

Sue Jenkins is co-Founding Director of Foxes in Minehead which comprises Foxes Academy and more recently Foxes Fields. Foxes Academy is a specialist Ofsted graded Outstanding Training Hotel on Minehead seafront. The Academy enables learners achieve nationally recognised qualifications that will help them gain employment but also promotes full, independent living skills that helps learners lead a rich and fulfilling life. Foxes Fields is a brand new independent residential school for 11-18 year olds with learning disabilities.
