About Roy Searle
Roy Searle is one of the founder leaders of the Northumbria Community, a ‘new monastic’, global network of Christians, covenanted together within the love of Christ and embracing a Rule of Life ~ Availability and Vulnerability. Roy is a former President of the Baptist Union of Great Britain, visiting lecturer, spiritual director, mentor and a consultant to several charities, churches and organisations including Renovaré which was founded by his friend Richard J Foster. Richard’s books include ‘Celebration of Discipline’ and ‘Streams of Living Water’. Roy’s talks will be based upon the ’six streams’ of discipline found in the life of Jesus Christ and the corresponding ‘Six Traditions’ seen in the history of the church: Contemplation, Holiness, Charismatic, Social Justice, Evangelical and Incarnational.
Each of these streams has something vital for us to embrace both alone and together in our churches and our desire and intention is to encourage and resource you in your relationship with God.

On Saturday, 15th March at 7.30 pm, Helen Shapiro will be presenting ‘A Gospel Outreach’ at the Regal Theatre here in Minehead.
Tickets £5.00 (Students £3.00) are available from Under The Rainbow Christian Bookshop, 01643 709410
Helen Shapiro, was an international star at the tender age of fourteen, and has been going strong ever since 1961! She is a highly respected jazz singer and has performed with Humphrey Lyttelton and his band from 1983 to 2001, and also with the BBC Big Band. In 1987 Helen was opened to the truth of Jesus as Saviour of the world and responded by committing her life to Him. In her ‘Gospel Outreaches’ Helen presents her challenging story. She begins by singing a selection of worship songs for approximately 20 minutes, aided by live accompaniment. She then follows on to tell about how she came to faith in Jesus. This time of testimony is interspersed with songs (including the ever-popular ‘Walking Back to Happiness’) sung to backing tracks. She concludes the evening with a powerful, personal Gospel challenge.
Please note there is no reserved seating.
