Prayer Week 2009

We are going to have a Dawn to Dusk (D2D) week of prayer from Monday, 31st August to Friday, 4th September praying from 7.00am to 7.00pm each day.

Each day will be divided into 12 hour slots. Choose an hour in which you undertake to pray, whether at home, walking the dog, etc. There are ‘hour slot’ cards in the vestibule in the Church. If you can’t get here, just do an extra hour – it all helps!

There will also be a Prayer Meeting on Wednesday (2nd from 6.00pm to 7.00pm in the Church Lounge and the Church will be open for silent prayer.

Throughout the week we will be praying for the Church and the local community.

If you’d like to know more, please contact us.

Opensong NIV UK Bible Updated

The UK version of the NIV Bible for Opensong has been updated. The changes are replacing the word ‘rooster’ with ‘cock’ wherever it appears.

Thanks to Rev Paul Woodcock, the Associate Priest Ambleside with Brathay Chaplain, University of Cumbria for letting us know that it needed to be done!

You can download the UK NIV Bible for Opensong from our Opensong resources page.

Half Night of Prayer

Tuesday, 6th January 2009; 5.00pm to 11.00pm

Please come and join us for a very special evening of individual, small group and corporate prayer.

The Evening will focus on four main areas:

  1. The life of the Church;
  2. The work of the Church;
  3. Reaching out;
  4. The Community.

The Church will be open for quiet individual prayer between 5.00pm and 7.00pm.

At 7.00pm there will be a time of introduction, praise and worship, reading and a brief talk before we get down to further intercessory prayer.

The last hour (10.00pm to 11.00pm) will also include some worship as well as an opportunity for people to share anything they sensed the Lord may have been saying to us as a Church.

We want this time to be as much about listening to the Lord as sharing our concerns with Him.
